What we offer

Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.

Canteen

All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.

Our canteen is run by the P&C and operates on Friday. If you would like to be on the canteen roster or would like more information please contact the school.

Students will require lunch and recess each day. They are encouraged to bring healthy food, no lollies or glass bottles please. A selection of healthy food is sold at the school tuck shop on Friday.

When is the canteen open?

Fridays from 11-11.35am

What food is available?

We have a range of healthy meat and vegetarian options. For details have a look at the Canteen Menu.

How do I order?

Children need to return their lunch order and money in a reusable ziplock bag to the office by Wednesday each week. It is important for parents to discuss their children’s lunch order with them, especially kindy students, so they know what they have ordered.

Can I volunteer?

Yes. Our canteen is operated entirely by parent volunteers. Any assistance you can lend either by doing a rostered day or helping with some cooking would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the office if you are able to lend a hand.

What if I volunteer and I can’t make it on the day?

You can try and swap with another volunteer or contact the canteen manager as early as possible.

Uniforms

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics

  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities

  • is suitable for all body shapes.

Learn more about the NSW Department of Education’s School Uniform Policy.

Official uniform

The official school uniform consists of a red collared t-shirt with the school logo and black skirt or pants which must be worn at all formal school events and excursions.

Covered shoes and a broad brimmed hat must be worn at all times outdoors.

The official collared t-shirt, wide brimmed hats and the school winter hoodie are available from the school office.

Creative clothing range

Main Arm School also offers uniform options. Originally created by a local designer and former Main Arm parent, Karina Brien, our uniform option range is beautiful, inexpensive, easy care and unique to Main Arm School. You can mix and match any of the range and wear with covered shoes and a wide brimmed hat.

The uniform options range can be purchased through the school office.

No child is allowed to go on an excursion without a consent form and school uniform.
