Student Wellbeing at Main Arm Public School
At Main Arm Public School, student wellbeing sits at the heart of everything we do. We are deeply committed to supporting the mental, social, emotional and physical wellbeing of every child, knowing that students learn best when they feel safe, connected and valued.
Our approach is guided by the Berry Street Education Model, which supports trauma-informed, inclusive practices that help students regulate, build resilience and engage positively in learning. Through this model, our teachers focus on strong relationships, predictable routines and supportive learning environments where all students can thrive.
Wellbeing at Main Arm is strengthened through:
- Individual health care plans and personalised support where required
- Open and respectful communication between home and school
- Clear, consistent expectations for behaviour and relationships
- Access to school counselling services and external supports
- Teachers who prioritise connection and help students feel safe, known and understood
- We work closely with families to ensure wellbeing is a shared responsibility. By nurturing strong relationships and providing consistent support, we help our students develop the confidence, resilience and emotional skills they need—both at school and beyond.
- At Main Arm, wellbeing and learning go hand in hand.
